What kind of people go to Hedonism?
All types — doctors and lawyers, musicians and artists, secretaries and truck drivers, moms and retirees. Guests are mostly white with 10 percent or so other races. The staff is primarily Black Jamaican. Most guests hail from the United States.

At least half the guests are couples. Men outnumber women by at least 2 to 1. Some weeks the ratio seems more like 8 to 1. The average age is early 40s, with the mid-range 30 to 55. But it’s the attitude — not the look, age, or income of the person — that makes a difference in whether fun is had at Hedo.

What kind of people should not go to Hedonism?
Don’t go to Hedo if you can’t tolerate seeing naked people in public… find sex, booger, and fart jokes offensive… would be appalled to see someone having sex in public… accept not being asked to join in to the public sex.

If you are a couple, can you tolerate your spouse talking to a naked person of the opposite sex when you are not around? More importantly, can you tolerate your spouse possibly being hit on?

What’s the difference between Hedonism II and Hedonism III?
The resorts are similar in many respects. Most guests say rooms at Hedo3 are better, and sometimes the food is better. The beach at Hedo2 is far better than at Hedo3. Many say that unless they bring their friends, the social ambiance at Hedo3 is more subdued than at Hedo2. The hot tub at both at night heats up equally.

Will I feel self-conscious if I go to Hedonism II?
Depends on your personality. You don’t have to be naked at Hedonism II — two-thirds of the resort isn’t nude. No one is looking at you because they are too worried about themselves.

What are accommodations like at Hedonism II?
Rooms are fairly Spartan but clean and have the essentials: a king-sized bed, mirrors on the ceiling, soap, shampoo, towels, iron and ironing board (few use them), and blow dryer. Through 2004, the resort is in the process of repainting the rooms and remodeling bathrooms to have showers instead of bathtubs.

What are the beaches like at Hedonism II?
Hedonism II’s beach is long and sufficiently wide with lots of areas for sun and shade (many trees dot the beach). The sand is coarse because the beach is artificial. It was added to the end of the famous seven-mile Negril beach in the 1970s.

What is the food like at Hedonism II?
Food quality varies but something is always edible and sometimes excellent. Hedonism II has a Japanese-style restaurant called Munasan, an Italian restaurant called Pastafari, and a Jamaican restaurant called Scotch Bonnet in addition to a huge buffet open-air dining room.

Have you attended weddings at Hedonism? If so, what are they like?
Weddings at Hedo are open for all to watch, whether naked or clothed. The bridal party and minister is always dressed at Hedonism II (once a year nude weddings are hosted at Hedonism III — usually around February 14). Guests don’t have to be dressed on the nude beach but some ornament themselves to be festive.

Ceremonies are short and a small reception is held in the piano bar game room. The resort supplies champagne and cake. Weddings are no longer free, but they are still reasonable and the resort staff goes out of their way to ensure the day is special.

Can Hedonism II help a couple’s sex life?
I think so! The resort is quite inspiring for many folks — including singles and both monogamous and swinger couples. Tons of couples find Hedo recharges their sex life not only because being on a lazy vacation helps, but all around you are folks who are feeling frisky with their spouses too. It’s in the air.

Why would newlyweds want to go to a clothing-optional resort? What are the advantages of going on a naked honeymoon?
Being naked heightens sensuality for newlyweds. Plus, sheer physical comfort is found by being nude. Preparation for hitting the nude beach is quick: Just check your butt for T.P. balls and hit the beach.

To adjust to being naked with or without an adult beverage, know that sunlight feels good on your genitals. And think about the smooth roundness of your fat without the indent of a swimsuit’s elastic emphasizing its mush. Birthday suits also dry faster than textile ones. You can pack lighter too —fewer clothes to bring.

What should I pack for a week at a nudist resort?
Hedonism II is not a nudist resort. It’s a resort that has nude areas. You do dress for meals off the beach — but that outfit could be mesh or a thong. Hedonism II offers an opportunity to wear all those outfits you don’t dare to wear at home. Your toys will likely take up more room in your luggage than your clothes. Many women find they bring more shoes than the number of days of their trip!

Did you witness group sex or orgies at Hedonism II?
I’ve seen them, but I’d say that most folks haven’t. Most people will witness at least oral sex going on, but actual groups are usually closed-door or occasionally late-night in the nude hot tub. The last three weeks of January, mid-October, and over the Fourth of July are when a high percentage of guests are Lifestylers (swingers) so you’ll see more outdoor sex.

Although I have been to Nudist places before, this was my 1st time visiting
an Hedonist resort. Actually, the 1st time going to Jamaica ever.

My vacation was booked through the Sandals travel agency. I lodged at the
Grand Pineapple hotel (formally Negril Gardens). This is a 2.5 star resort.
Having not been a huge vacationer, I was content doing my get-a-way on the
cheap. Now I know better. For a 6-day stay, the quality of the dwellings
makes a difference of the overall lasting effects a vacation has, both
positive & negative. From now on I will shell out a bit more to stay at a
better place.

My travel mate was my girlfriend. She is Jamaican born & raised. She has
been a long-time resident of the U.S. since her family relocated here over
twenty years ago. Our trip to Jamaica was her 1st visit there as a tourist.
When we were trying to decided which resort to make our reservations, it was
as new to her as it was for me.

She is not a Nudist. The plans we made by our arrival encompassed activities
for each of the following days. They included mostly traditional tours
offered by the hotel. The hotel did not offer a tour of Hedonism, which was
a 10 minute drive from our resort. We would have to hire our own taxi driver
to take us to Hedonism.

My girlfriend was reluctant about visiting Hedonism. Its mere name turned
her off. She was present while I web surfed for information on it. She did
not like what was presented about it on the internet. She thought of it as
an “anything goes with anyone” kind of place.

In the middle of Day 3 of our stay, we were on one of the traditional tours
offered by the hotel. We got into a heated debate about something having to
do with the tour we were on. By the time the tour ended and we were back at
our hotel, she was still too mad at me to speak to me for the remainder of
the day. Not content to let that spoil the remainder of my day, I spent the
rest of the evening at our hotel’s open bar having a great time. The fact
that I was enjoying myself that evening without her actually pulled us
further apart.

The morning of Day 4, my girlfriend was still not speaking to me. So, I
decided for later that day I would do an evening pass at Hedonism. I offered
her an invitation to go with me to Hedonism that night. She declined, as I
already knew she would. I offered to arrange some other activities for her
that evening, but she declined everything I offered. So, I left her at our
hotel & went to Hedonism alone.

Although a bit pricy ($75 for the night pass, and $65 for the day pass), I
thought it was worth it. Center stage offered great entertainment and a
great show. The buffet spread in the dining area was spectacular. I felt an
immediate positive sensation over the 2.5 star hotel I was staying at. I
knew I would want to return the following morning on a day pass.

The next morning my girlfriend was still not speaking to me. I told her I
had enjoyed my night pass at Hedonism the previous evening and planned on
taking a day pass there later that morning. Again I offered her an
invitation to join me. Again she refused. This was the longest she had ever
stayed mad at me. Once again I had an enjoyable time at Hedonism.

When I returned to my hotel that evening, my girlfriend was still mad at me.
Only this time she was no longer silent. She told me she has asked around
(hotel staff & others) about the goings on at Hedonism. What she learned is
that Hedonism was “nothing more than one gigantic fuck-fest.” People fucking
each other, swapping partners, etc. You name it, Hedonism did it. Or so she
believed. Although I am not an argumentative person, I accomodated my
girlfriend and argued back with her. Each time she railed into me with words
of hostility, I railed back. As the hours of arguing subsided, it finally
dawned on me where she was headed with all her angry & hurtful words. She
wanted us to touch again. It was her way of clearing the air. So, as the
evening turned to morning, we kissed & made up. Actually, we did much more
than just kiss.

The next morning we were a couple again. It was our final full day there. We
talked more about Hedonism. She was still speaking quite negatively of it. I
said she should not judge a place simply by what others say about it, but
see it for herself. I suggested we spend our final evening together on an
evening pass at Hedonism. Amazingly, she agreed.

When we arrived at Hedonism for the evening, I had already been there twice
by myself, so I knew my way around. I gave her a tour of the facilities. She
was quite impressed. She enjoyed the buffet. We found a jukuzi in one of the
more secluded areas, and spent sometime in it. While in it, she eventually
stripped down to just her bikini bottoms, but had no problem that I was
totally nude. Later, we enjoyed a rather incredible show on the main stage.
We departed the facility shortly thereafter. For the remainder of that
evening and all the following day, she was apologetic about her earlier
behavior. She admitted Hedonism was much better than she ever imagined it
would be. For our return vacation, she said she would like it very much if
we stayed at Hedonism, providing our wallets allow.

I was happy that our vacation ended on such a high note. I know whenever we
are able to get back there again, it will be the best time ever.

At least, not when we went. But, most of the staff did say that we arrived just in time for “dead season”. So, I have hope for the future. There were a lot of older people on the resort. Saw some things I wish I didn’t see and didn’t see a lot of things I wanted to see. But, that’s the beauty of this place. No one cares and/or discriminates here. You are what you are and you can do whatever you want to do. No one will question or criticize you for it. This place is all about getting to go to a place where you can do whatever the #@#$ you want to do without having to worry about it. The service and staff at this place are 1st rate. Everyone is really, really friendly, courteous and helpful. I could not ask for better service. The facilities were 1st rate. Everything was clean and kept up to condition. The food was great at the Pastafari and the Japanese Steakhouse. Even the buffet food was really good. There is more than enough on the resort for you to spend your entire vacation on it, but I do recommend that you get off and do the guided tours and definitely visit Rick’s Cafe and Pirates Cave Rest. As far as the partying goes, this is definitely the place to be. My only gripe is that Red Stripe is the only beer served. This is undoubtedly a great place to go and party. Just make sure you go during peak season and/or bring a group with you. Be ready to party and go with an open mind.
